Tennis Show #12: Story-telling for Success with Matt Knoll

Longtime Baylor men's tennis coach, Matt Knoll, drops in to share memorable reflections on his career and aspirations for what is Next.

A coach's sphere of influence makes a massive impact on so many other circles, rippling out into the world from all ages ...

As head coach of Baylor University's men's tennis team, Matt Knoll was tasked with using his coaching acumen - from study and experience - to sustain a winning presence. Based on this conversation, it would seem he did just that, and much more...

It was especially gratifying for me to bend Matt's ear on details of practices, culture, training and vision. Such access to the way in which a leader approaches his response-ability is the type of Brain trust that Matt and others seek out as they evolve their approach to teaching.

We agreed, over the course of ninety-minutes, that you can never truly lose: there is all ways a gain to be enjoyed from the pursuit of excellence, no matter the short-term outcomes.

It was a tremendous pleasure to host Matt, and rap with him about these mutually exciting endeavors... I appreciate anyone who can communicate these messages to young men and women, inspiring them to take control of the authorship of their lives.

You can find Matt's work at American College Placement, a service for elite mentoring in the world of collegiate tennis.
